Common Questions

Yes! As of 2020, the act of getting married online holds full legal recognition in the United States, when done through the state of Utah. This development means that individuals globally now have the option to get 100% legally married online, from start to finish. The traditional requirements of signing physical documents or visiting a courthouse to obtain an official US marriage certificate have been bypassed, rendering the process streamlined and accessible from anywhere.

How does getting married online work?

We get you set up with the Marriage application, and we schedule a ceremony. When it comes time for your ceremony, you will join the video call where you will meet your wedding officiant. As soon as the ceremony is over, you will receive your marriage certificate. This is conducted through the state of Utah.

Are your officiants US certified?

Yes, all of our officiants are based out of Utah. They are each recognized throughout the US as US officiants.

Can we exchange personal vows?

Yes! By all means, this is YOUR special day. Whether you have a lot to say, or nothing at all – the choice is yours.

Is ring exchange required?

No, it is not required. Ring exchange is 100% optional.

Is LGBTQ+ marriage allowed?

Yes! We support all marriages from any background. All of this is legal and recognized under US Law.

Will it say 'online' on the marriage certificate?

No, the marriage certificate does not say online, and won’t have any mention that it was done virtually. It’s a normal US marriage certificate, recognized in all 50 states.

What is the process?

We have a 3 step process.

1) Get signed up and schedule a date & time for your ceremony.

2) Fill out the marriage application (takes roughly 10-20 minutes to complete).

3) Join the video ceremony with our officiant at your scheduled time, and seal the deal!

You’ll receive your marriage certificate immediately after that, and your physical copy will arrive in the mail within 3-10 days business days.

We take care of registering your marriage, so you don’t need to do anything else!

Do we need to be physically together?

No, you don’t need to be physically together. You can be in different locations, different states, or even different countries on opposite ends of the world.

What if my partner is incarcerated or in jail?

The answer is yes, you can still get married. This is a very common situation among our couples.

As long as your partner has the ability to get on a video call, and has a valid ID (any form Full Name, DOB, & a Profile Photo) (this can also be a prison/ jail ID) then you’re set!

Does the marriage license expire?

You have 30 days from the date your marriage license application is finalized to get married. Often times the marriage license is finalized within the same week of your marriage, as to avoid any issues with time.

Yes! Everything from A-Z is done online, from filling out your papers to getting your marriage finalized. This became possible in 2019, and is 100% legal and recognized in all 50 states. (and 130+ countries)

If you are looking to add an Apostille Stamp, you can get one here for $130.
